Barangay Cagawasan of the Municipality of Dagohoy celebrated the launching and turnover of the access road and foot trail last June 30, 2021. These infrastructure represent an opportunity that would open doors and bring growth in terms of accessibility and livelihood opportunities.

A Ceremonial Cutting of Ribbon for the turn-over of infrastructures was conducted on June 30, 2021 in Barangay Cagawasan in the Municipality of Dagohoy, Bohol

 

The event started with the blessing of the infrastructures and a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by prominent officials such as: former Board Member of the 2nd District of Bohol and the current Executive Assistant to Provincial Governor Arthur Yap, Ms. Jaja Jumamoy, Honorable Mayor of Local Government Unit (LGU) Dagohoy Sofronio Apat, Honorable Vice Mayor of LGU Dagohoy. Ma. Shirley Amodia, Barangay Cagawasan Captain Raymon Abatayo, Officer-in-Charge for the Provincial Environmental and Natural Resources Office (OIC-PENRO) Mr. Ariel Rica, and other staff of the LGU and officers and staff of the Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management Project – Wahig Inabanga River Basin (INREMP-WIRB).

This was followed by a program at the Municipal Hall, where the Congressman of the 2nd district of Bohol, Honorable Erico Aristotle Aumentado joined the celebration. The Honorable Mayor Apat started the program with a welcome remarks where he expressed his profound gratitude to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - INREMP for awarding the access road project to Barangay Cagawasan. A video documentation of the construction of the access road where presented by Engr. Myrna Figueras, LGU Dagohoy Municipal Engineer, and inspirational message was given by OIC PENRO Mr. Rica.

 

Congressman Aumentado conveyed his steadfast support to the people of Dagohoy and assured them of fund allocations for existing and upcoming projects as these align with his goal of elevating the standard of living of the people of the 2nd district of Bohol. Honorable Captain Abatayo of Barangay Cagawasan, through his speech, accepted the turned over access road and thanked all the officials who gave their support to make this project possible. In his acceptance speech, he stated:

 

 “There’s no amount of words that could best describe my happiness because among the barangays here in Dagohoy, Barangay Cagawasan was chosen to be one of the INREM Project beneficiaries.” He guaranteed that the people of Barangay Cagawasan will carry on their support to the operation and maintenance of the turned-over access road subproject of INREMP. 

 

The momentous event was closed by Ms. Jumamoy. On behalf of the Provincial Governor, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to all the key actors behind this achieved milestone. Furthermore, she guaranteed that the provincial government under the leadership of Governor Yap will continue its mutual partnership with the LGUs to help in sustaining these existing and future projects. 

 

Indeed, this event is proof that the success of INREMP in Bohol was anchored on the partnership and collaboration between and among the beneficiaries, LGUs and other key stakeholders involved.
